Four SEC men’s tennis teams advance to Super Regional

Following this weekend’s first and second rounds, four Southeastern Conference teams have advanced in the 2022 DI men’s tennis championship. The championship continues next weekend with super regionals .

No. 2 seed Florida defeated New Orleans in the first round and then Miami in the second both by a score of 4-0. The defending national champions will host North Carolina on Friday, May 13 at 5 p.m. ET. The 10th seeded Gamecocks will also play on Friday when they travel to Charlottesville to take on Virginia at 3 p.m. ET. South Carolina defeated South Carolina State, 4-0 in the first round and then took down Pepperdine, 4-1 in the second round.

The next day, the 6th seeded Vols will host Florida State at 4 p.m. ET. In the first round, Tennessee defeated Tennessee State, 4-0 followed by a 4-1 win over Duke in the second round. No. 8 seed Kentucky took the win over DePaul, 4-0 in the first round and then defeated Northwestern, 4-2 in the second round. They will host Wake Forest at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Overall, SEC men’s teams went 8-2 in the first round and 4-4 in the second.
