The No. 23 Razorbacks are moving on to the Men’s College World Series semifinals following an 11-1 win over No. 25 Auburn in an elimination game.
Will McEntire keyed the win with a career-high nine strikeouts and only three hits allowed in seven innings. Meanwhile, Arkansas’ offense put up 16 hits and had the bats rolling after a slow start in the first couple innings.
Peyton Stovall was on fire for the Hogs after becoming the first Arkansas player to have five hits in a MCWS game, and the first one to do it overall since 2009. Stovall is now 21-40 (.525) in the NCAA Tournament and 9-16 (.563) in the MCWS.
Arkansas became the sixth team in MCWS history to have multiple 10-run games in the MCWS.
