Every Pokémon Confirmed For Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are releasing this Fall on the Nintendo Switch. Here’s every Pokémon confirmed to be a part of the Gen 9 Pokédex so far.

The second trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet dropped in June and increased the list of Pokémon that have been confirmed to be in the upcoming Generation 9 RPGs. Originally announced in February, the first trailer for Gen 9 gave fans a brief glimpse at the new region’s Pokédex. From Kanto to Galar, the open-world RPGs looked to have a good variety of Pokémon selected from across the series’ eight generations of previous titles.

On June 1, Game Freak gave players a second massive Gen 9 update with a special Pokémon Scarlet and Violet gameplay trailer. Although it wasn’t a full Nintendo Direct, the new footage filled out more slots in the Gen 9 Pokédex by confirming a handful of classic Pokémon that would be returning in the upcoming RPGs, such as Kanto favorite Gastly and its evolution Gengar. The video also gave fans their first look at Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s regional Pokédex as well, as new Pokémon Pawmi, Smoliv, and Lechonk made their series debut for the very first time. However, the star of the June update was the reveal of the new Gen 9 box art Legendaries.

At the end of the three-minute trailer, Scarlet and Violet Legendary Pokémon Koraidon and Miraidon made their first appearance in a CGI cinematic sequence. Although the duo looks to be Dragon-types, there hasn’t been any additional information released about the mysterious Legendaries. With the third trailer released on August 3rd, 2022, players have a better idea of what the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Pokédex will look like as there are now over 100 Pokémon that have been spotted in various footage of the Gen 9 RPGs. Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Leaked Pokémon

Every Pokemon Confirmed For Pokemon Scarlet And Violet Rumors Leaks

With Pokémon Scarlet And Violet only months away from release, there has been a handful of supposed leaks and rumors claiming to hint at details from the Gen 9 games. Many fans believe that popular leaker Riddler Khu unveiled some of the Gen 9 Pokédex after posting a screenshot of images on his desktop. Eagle-eyed users combing over the May leak, speculate that several classic Pokémon have been confirmed such as the popular Gen 1 Kanto starter Pokémon Charmander and its evolution line Charmeleon and Charizard. Although the Fire-type was left out of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the Gen 1 Pokémon was actually a part of both the Kalos and Galar Pokédex making it one of the most used Pokémon in the series.

If the screenshot is correct, then fans over on Reddit who have tried to decipher the leaked Pokédex image have theorized that Quagsire, Arcanine, and Dugtrio will also be catchable in the new region. Riddler Khu never confirmed whether fans were on the right track though, so the potential list of leaked Gen 9 Pokémon is currently just a rumor. Since Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Legendaries Koraidon and Miraidon appear to have themes about the past and future, there have also been many theories that the game could incorporate ancient Sinnoh with Legends: Arceus’ Hisuian Pokémon. Below is a list of Pokémon Scarlet And Violet’s potentially leaked Pokémon.

  • Charmander
  • Charmeleon
  • Charizard
  • Sandshrew
  • Sandslash
  • Diglett
  • Dugtrio
  • Growlithe
  • Arcanine
  • Mankey
  • Primeape
  • Tentacool
  • Tentacruel
  • Ursaring
  • Stantler
  • Quagsire
  • Overqwil
  • Sneasel
  • Weavile
  • Sneasler
  • Skitty
  • Wailord

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Regional Form Pokémon Rumors

Pokemon Scarlet And Violet Regional Form Rumors

Regional forms first made their debut in Pokémon Sun and Moon, and every Pokémon title has had them since Gen 7. While Game Freak has not given any updates about Gen 9’s regional Pokémon, there has been a series of rumors about Diglett and Dugtrio getting a new form in the upcoming RPGs. Back in April, a fake concept art that was debunked claimed that the Kanto Pokémon would become a Water-type that rises from the ground like a geyser.

Although the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet rumor initially appeared to be completely made up, several prominent leakers hinted that Dugtrio may actually be one of the Pokémon to get a regional form in Gen 9. Adding fuel to the fire is that a mysterious Pokémon can be seen digging through the dirt in the June 1st trailer. With the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet region rumored to be based on Spain, players can expect some interesting new designs for a handful of classic Pokémon. The most recent trailer can be viewed below:

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will officially release on Friday, November 18th, and will push the franchise forward with the debut of Gen 9. Based on the two trailers released so far, the Nintendo Switch RPGs look to be representing every generation with a diverse choice of Pokémon being chosen. With the region’s sprawling open-world map that can be tackled in any order, the RPG could end up having one of the largest regional Pokédex in the series’ history.
