100 SEC football players named to watch lists

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Aug. 4, 2022) —– A total of 100 Southeastern Conference football student-athletes have been named to preseason watch lists for 17 national awards.

Five SEC student-athletes – Alabama’s Will Anderson and Jordan Battle, and Georgia’s Brock Bowers, Jalen Carter and Kelee Ringo – were named to watch lists for four awards. Twelve others were each named to three watch lists.

Georgia led the way with 14 representatives on watch lists, while Alabama had 12. Each SEC school had at least four players named to preseason watch lists.

Vanderbilt is slated to open the 2022 season Aug. 27 against Hawaii. The 13 other SEC schools will open play the weekend of Sept. 3.
