Corridor Crew Recreates The Original In-Camera Lightsaber Visual Effects Used in the Original STAR WARS — GeekTyrant

In this awesome new video from Corridor Crew, the VFX team takes on the challenge of recreating the original in-camera visual effects that were used to bring the lightsabers to life in George Lucas’ original Star Wars movie, A New Hope.

The way lightsaber effects are created has evolved over the years, but back in the day the team at Industrial Light and Magic had to get crazy creative and they did some pretty incredible things to bring that get that iconic lightsaber effect.

The goal of this is to see if that original practical effect still holds up in the age of modern visuals, and it’s really cool to see the results! Check out the video!
